Roborock Q8 Max Pro — White & Black

Most robot vacuums in this market are cheap disc-shaped toys that bounce off furniture until the battery dies. The Q8 Max Pro is not that. It maps your home with a spinning LiDAR turret, drives in straight overlapping lines, and remembers the layout between runs.

Cleaning

• DuoRoller dual rubber brushes — two counter-rotating rollers instead of one bristle brush. Rubber does not knot with hair the way bristles do, which is the single biggest maintenance complaint with robot vacuums.
• 5500Pa suction — enough for the fine sand-coloured dust that settles on everything here in dry season, and for tile grout lines.
• Mopping — attach the water tank and it damp-mops hard floors on the same pass, with carpet detection so it lifts away from rugs.

Mapping and control

LiDAR PreciSense builds a real floor plan you can edit in the Roborock app: draw no-go zones around the pet bowl and the tangle of cables behind the TV, split rooms, send it to clean just the kitchen. It stores multiple levels, so it works in a duplex without re-learning the house each time. Works with voice assistants and schedules.

Practical notes for Nigerian homes

Set a schedule for when you are out — it is quiet, but not silent. Empty the onboard bin every two or three runs if you live on a busy road; dust load here is higher than the manuals assume. It docks and recharges itself, then resumes where it stopped, so a power interruption mid-clean does not mean starting over.
