Student discounts: the fine print
Who counts as a student or an educator?
Anyone enrolled at a Nigerian secondary school, polytechnic, college or university, full-time or part-time, and anyone who teaches at one. NYSC members count. So do staff who are not teaching staff. If you are not sure, send the form anyway and we will tell you.
I don't have a school email address. Can I still get the code?
Yes. Plenty of Nigerian institutions never issue one. Send a photo of your student or staff ID on WhatsApp instead and we will verify it by hand. It takes the same one business day.
How long does verification take?
One business day. A person reads every submission, which is why it is a day rather than a second, and also why nobody outside Zigga ever sees your details.
What does the code cover?
Everything in the store: laptops, phones, tablets, consoles, accessories. It applies to the price you see, so it comes off the full listed price of a device that is not already reduced.
Can I use it on top of a sale price or a trade-in?
Not on top of a sale price. One discount per order, and the code will not apply to a device already marked down. Trade-in is different: your trade-in credit and the student code both come off the same order, because a trade-in is not a discount, it is money you brought.
How many times can I use it?
One code per person, one order. We would rather say that up front than let you build a cart twice.
Does the code expire?
Yes, and the expiry date is written in the email that carries it. If yours has run out, send the form again from the same address and we will issue a fresh one.
Is a discounted device still under warranty?
The same 12-month warranty as every other device we sell, and the same IMEI verification before it leaves us. The code changes the price. It does not change the device or what we owe you afterwards.
