A Galaxy Z Fold 3 for ₦660,800: cheap, but out of updates
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is the cheapest way into a 7.6-inch folding screen at Ziggatech: ₦660,800 for a certified UK-used unit. It is also a 2021 phone whose software support has ended. Its last major version was Android 15, it never got Android 16, and Samsung has removed it from its security updates page. If that matters, the certified Galaxy Z Fold 4 costs only ₦60,000 more.
Buy the Fold 3 if:
- You want the lowest price into a foldable. Nothing else we sell opens to 7.6 inches for under ₦700,000.
- You want water resistance and a stylus option. It was the first Fold with an IPX8 rating and S Pen support (the S Pen Fold Edition is sold separately).
- You will use it as a second device and do not mind being on its final software.
Skip it if:
- You care about security patches. The Fold 3 has had its last. The Fold 4 is still being patched.
- You take a lot of photos. The Fold 3 has 12MP cameras on the back. The Fold 4 has a 50MP main camera.
- You are thinking of paying for a new one. See the next section.
Used, new 256GB or new 512GB?
| Certified UK-used | New 256GB | New 512GB |
|---|
| Price at Ziggatech | ₦660,800 | ₦720,800 | ₦756,800 |
| Right for | The lowest price | Sealed box | Sealed box, more storage |
The new 256GB costs ₦720,800, which is the same price as a certified Fold 4. A Fold 4 is a newer phone, with a 50MP camera and a taskbar for running apps side by side. We would not pay ₦720,800 for a new Fold 3. For the used unit at ₦660,800, the only trade-off is condition, which is why we run the checks below on every one. The new 512GB adds ₦36,000 over the new 256GB for double the storage.
The jump to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is bigger: at ₦1,692,800, it costs ₦1,032,000 more than the used Fold 3.
What the Fold 3 still does well in 2026
- Inner screen: a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 120Hz, big enough to read a document or run two apps at once.
- Cover screen: a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED, so you can use the phone closed with one hand.
- Chip and memory: Snapdragon 888 with 12GB of RAM, which still runs multitasking smoothly.
- Water: rated IPX8 when new. A repaired phone's seal cannot be guaranteed, so treat it as splash-resistant.
- Battery and network: a 4,400mAh battery, 5G and Wi-Fi 6E.
What to check on any UK-used Galaxy Z Fold 3
- Inner screen and crease. Open the phone in bright light. Look for lines, dead pixels, and the factory screen protector lifting or bubbling along the fold. Dial *#0*# and run the red, green and blue tests to show up any dead lines.
- Hinge. It should open and close smoothly with no grinding, wobble or uneven tension, and hold the half-open position.
- Accounts and locks. No Samsung or Google account should be signed in. Ask the seller to confirm the phone is not under a Knox Guard financing lock.
- Battery. Open the Samsung Members app and run the phone diagnostics. A five-year-old foldable battery wears faster if the phone was used heavily.
- IMEI. Dial *#06# and check the number against a blacklist checker before you pay.
Every certified Fold 3 we sell has passed our 100-point Ziggatech Certified diagnostic and an IMEI check against the GSMA blacklist. You also get a 12-month written warranty, a guaranteed battery capacity and a 6-month Battery Shield. If the battery fails in that time, we replace it free.
