Trade In Your iPhone 15 or 16 for an iPhone 18 Pro: The Real Upgrade Cost in Nigeria (2026)

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is ₦2,550,000, but very few people upgrading pay that. If you have an iPhone 15 or 16, it's worth a lot of money right now, and the amount you actually pay is the price minus what your phone is worth.

Below is that sum for every iPhone 15 and 16 model, using Ziggatech's current trade-in quotes and live iPhone 18 Pro prices.

Upgrade prices use the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro at ₦2,250,000 and Pro Max at ₦2,550,000. Add ₦100,000 for the physical SIM version. Trade-in quotes are the top figure for each model at its smallest storage size in excellent condition. More storage raises the quote, and visible wear, a replaced screen or a weak battery lowers it. The exact figure for your phone comes from the Ziggatech trade-in page and a short inspection in Ikeja.

Why the timing matters

An iPhone loses value fastest in the weeks after its replacement is announced, and Apple announced the 18 Pro on 9 September. Every month you hold an iPhone 15 or 16 now, it's worth a little less as a trade-in. If you were going to upgrade within the next year, the cheapest time is usually the earliest. We explain the pattern in the best time to trade in your iPhone.

Which upgrade makes the most sense

From an iPhone 15 or 15 Pro: the biggest jump. You get a 2nm chip that runs much cooler, a much longer-lasting battery, a camera with a real adjustable aperture, and Camera Control. Your phone is also at the age where trade-in values drop faster each year. This is the clearest case for upgrading now.

From an iPhone 15 Pro Max: a strong upgrade. The 15 Pro Max is the iPhone that ran warm and had the shortest battery life of recent Pro Max models. The 18 Pro Max fixes both, and your trade-in still covers almost a third of the price.

From an iPhone 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max: depends on what bothers you. The 16 Pro is still a very good phone. You'd be upgrading for battery life, heat, and the variable aperture camera. At ₦1,745,000 after trade-in for the 18 Pro Max, it's a real expense, so upgrade if one of those three is a daily frustration, not just because a new model exists. Our iPhone 18 Pro review sets out where reviewers felt the difference.

From an iPhone 16 or 15: the Pro is the step up. If you don't need Pro features, the standard iPhone 18 isn't coming until spring 2027. We cover what to buy in the meantime in where is the regular iPhone 18.
