Where Is the Regular iPhone 18? Apple's Split Launch, Explained for Nigerian Buyers

If you went looking for the iPhone 18 price in Nigeria and every result showed you an iPhone 18 Pro, nothing is wrong with your search. The phone you were looking for has not been released.

Apple broke a pattern it had held for years. Instead of putting four iPhones on stage in September, it split the lineup across two launches. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max arrived in September 2026, along with the foldable. The standard iPhone 18, the cheaper iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air are scheduled for spring 2027.

So for the next several months, "iPhone 18" means a phone that starts at ₦2,250,000 in Lagos. If you were budgeting for the ordinary one, this page is about what to do instead.

Why Apple did this

Four phones in one September is a manufacturing problem and a marketing one. Splitting the year gives the expensive models the whole autumn to themselves, including the Christmas quarter, and moves the cheaper models to a slower part of the calendar where they are not competing with their own Pro siblings for attention.

For a buyer it has one practical effect. The gap between the newest iPhone and the newest affordable iPhone is now about six months wide, and for those six months the only new iPhone is a ₦2,250,000 phone.

What to buy if you wanted the ordinary iPhone 18

The iPhone 17 is the closest thing to it. At from ₦1,139,800 it is the current non-Pro flagship, it is in stock, and it is roughly where the standard iPhone 18 will land when it does arrive. Waiting six months to pay a launch premium for one generation is a poor trade unless you want it specifically.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is the value play at the top. ₦2,198,800 against ₦2,550,000 for the 18 Pro Max is a ₦351,200 difference for a phone with the same 6.9in 120Hz display and the same storage ceiling. We put the two side by side in iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 18 Pro Max: what actually changed.

A Zigga Certified older Pro stretches the money furthest. Pre-owned units are up to 40% less than new and carry the same twelve-month warranty, because the grade is a test result rather than a description of how the phone looks. Every one passes a 100-point diagnostic covering battery chemistry, moisture sensors and the IMEI against the GSMA blacklist. The full ladder is in our iPhone price guide for Nigeria.

If you are set on waiting for spring 2027

Two things worth knowing before you do.

The first is that your current phone is losing value while you wait. Trade-in values on any iPhone fall hardest in the weeks after a new flagship is announced, and that has already happened. A quote from the Ziggatech trade-in programme takes under two minutes, and the payout arrives as store credit or bank transfer within 24 hours of inspection. Waiting six months to trade in is a decision to accept a lower number.

The second is that Nigerian pricing does not track Apple's US list price. It tracks landed cost: the naira rate, import duty and how much stock actually reaches Lagos. A spring 2027 launch price is not something anyone can quote you today, including us, and you should be careful with any page that does.

What about the iPhone Duo?

Apple's first foldable launched alongside the Pro models. It is a different category and a different budget, starting at ₦3,550,000, and we covered it separately in the iPhone Duo price guide for Nigeria. Duo allocations are the tightest of the three pre-orders.

How Ziggatech sells these

Every unit is factory unlocked and works on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile, including 5G where the network is live. The IMEI is checked against the GSMA blacklist before listing, we supply the Apple serial so you can confirm coverage yourself at checkcoverage.apple.com, and every device is filmed with the screen on and the IMEI visible before dispatch.

Twelve months of written warranty on every device, new or Zigga Certified, claimed in person at 1A Bashiru Oweh Street, off Medical Road, Ikeja. Seven days for an exchange or store credit if you change your mind, device in the condition it arrived with its accessories and packaging. Same-day delivery across selected Lagos areas on orders before noon, 1 to 2 business days for the rest of Lagos, 3 to 5 business days nationwide by insured courier.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is there a regular iPhone 18?
Not yet. Apple split the iPhone 18 launch across two events. The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max arrived in September 2026 alongside the foldable iPhone Duo, while the standard iPhone 18, the iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air are scheduled for spring 2027.

How much is the iPhone 18 in Nigeria?
Only the Pro models exist today. At Ziggatech in Ikeja, Lagos, the iPhone 18 Pro is from ₦2,250,000 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max from ₦2,550,000, to pre-order, with Lagos delivery and Ikeja pickup from 26 October 2026. The standard iPhone 18 has no price because it has not been announced.

When will the standard iPhone 18 be released?
Spring 2027, alongside the iPhone 18e and a second-generation iPhone Air. Apple has not given a specific date, and Nigerian pricing will depend on the naira rate, import duty and stock levels at that time rather than on Apple's US list price.

Should I wait for the iPhone 18 or buy the iPhone 17 now?
If you wanted the affordable iPhone 18, the iPhone 17 from ₦1,139,800 is the closest phone on sale and it is in stock today. Waiting roughly six months to pay a launch premium for a single generation is only worth it if you want that specific model.

Is the iPhone 18e coming to Nigeria?
It is expected in spring 2027 with the standard iPhone 18. Nigeria is not an Apple first-wave launch market, so units typically reach Lagos after the initial release markets. No Nigerian price can be quoted until it is announced.
