Sony PS5 VR2

PlayStation VR2 connects to a PS5 with a single USB-C cable. No breakout box, no external camera, no calibration ritual — the improvement over the original PSVR is as much about setup as about the display, and it is the reason people actually use this one.

The headset

• OLED displays at 2000 x 2040 per eye, 4K HDR total, at 90Hz or 120Hz
• Eye tracking — you aim and select by looking, and the system renders sharpest exactly where you are looking so the console spends its power where your eye is
• Headset haptics: a motor in the visor itself, so a nearby explosion or a heartbeat is felt on your head, not just heard
• Inside-out tracking from four onboard cameras — nothing to mount on your walls
• 3D audio through your own headphones via the headset jack

Sense controllers

Adaptive triggers that stiffen as a bowstring draws, and finger-touch detection so your virtual hand mirrors your real one. They are the closest thing in consumer VR to feeling resistance rather than being told about it.

Before you order

PS VR2 requires a PlayStation 5 — it does not work on PS4, and it does not work on a PC without a separately sold adapter. You will want roughly 2m x 2m of clear floor for room-scale titles, though most games play seated. Prescription glasses fit inside the visor; there is a lens-distance dial for comfort.

Genuine Sony unit, tested with a console before it leaves us. Available for pickup in Lagos or delivery anywhere in Nigeria, and we will happily demo it in the shop before you commit.
