Ask five sellers in Computer Village how much an HP laptop costs and you'll get five answers. That's because "an HP laptop" can mean a 2016 EliteBook or a 2025 gaming machine, and the price difference is more than ₦2 million.
This guide breaks down Windows laptop prices in Nigeria by brand and by budget, using live prices from the Ziggatech Windows laptop range. It also covers the one spec that decides whether a cheap laptop is a bargain or a problem: whether it can run Windows 11.
Check This First: Can It Run Windows 11?
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. A Windows 10 laptop still turns on and works, but it no longer gets free security updates. (Microsoft)
Windows 11 officially needs an Intel 8th generation processor or newer, or an AMD Ryzen 2000 series or newer. (Microsoft's supported processor list)
So when you compare cheap laptops, look at the processor generation before the price. A 6th gen laptop that costs ₦100,000 less than an 8th or 10th gen one is not the same deal.

HP, Dell or Lenovo? What Each Brand Does Best
HP: the widest range
The EliteBook line (840, 1040, x360) is HP's business range: metal bodies, good keyboards, and parts that are easy to find in Lagos. The Victus and Omen ranges are HP's gaming laptops. The Envy and Spectre are for people who want a premium look and a sharp screen.
Dell: the safest used buy
The Latitude range is what companies buy in bulk, which is why so many good used ones reach Nigeria. They're built to be repaired, and batteries and chargers are easy to replace. The XPS is Dell's premium thin laptop, and the G15, G16 and Alienware ranges are for gaming.
Lenovo: the best keyboards
The ThinkPad, especially the X1 Carbon, is known for its keyboard and its light, tough body. It's the laptop a lot of lawyers, consultants and writers end up keeping for years. The Legion and LOQ are Lenovo's gaming laptops.
ASUS, Acer and MSI: gaming and creative work
Most of what we sell from these brands is built for gaming or video editing: the ROG Zephyrus, Acer Predator and MSI Creator ranges. For those, see our gaming laptop price guide.
What the Numbers Mean
The cheapest laptop that runs Windows 11 is the Dell Latitude 5410 at ₦360,750. That's ₦102,000 more than the 6th gen HP EliteBook 840 G3.
For typing, browsing and school work, the older laptop still does the job. But it will never get another Windows security update, and some apps and banking sites will eventually stop supporting it. If the laptop is for work or for a student who will keep it for four years, the extra ₦102,000 buys years of updates.
The cheapest laptop is the one you don't have to replace in two years.
Which Windows Laptop Should You Buy?
- For a student or first laptop: Dell Latitude 5410 or HP EliteBook 840 G6. Both run Windows 11 and cost under ₦400,000. See our best laptops for students guide.
- For office work: the HP EliteBook 840 G10 or Dell Latitude 7420. 16GB of memory means dozens of browser tabs, Excel and Teams open at once without slowing down.
- For travel: the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon or Dell XPS 13. Both are light enough to carry every day.
- For video editing and design: see our best laptops for content creators.

What to Check Before Buying Any Used Windows Laptop
- Processor generation. Look for Intel 8th gen or newer, or AMD Ryzen. It's usually printed in the listing or visible under Settings → System → About.
- SSD, not a hard drive. Every laptop in the table above uses an SSD. A laptop with a spinning hard drive will feel slow no matter the processor.
- Battery. Ask how long it lasts on a full charge. With NEPA, a laptop that dies after an hour is a desktop.
- Charger. Make sure the right charger comes with it. A cheap wrong-wattage charger can damage the battery.
- Windows activation. Check Settings → System → Activation. It should say Windows is activated.
Buying from Ziggatech
- Every laptop is Zigga Certified: fully tested before listing, with a 12-month warranty honoured in person at our Ikeja store.
- 7-day exchange and 48-hour damage cover.
- Same-day delivery in Lagos on orders placed before 12 PM, and 2–3 business days nationwide.
- Trade in your old laptop and pay only the difference.
