Disc or Digital? Why the Disc Still Makes Sense in Nigeria
There is no Nigerian PlayStation Store. To buy games digitally, most Nigerian players set up an account in another region and top it up with foreign gift cards, so the price depends on the exchange rate and the gift card markup on the day.
A disc works differently:
- You own it. Lend it to a friend, swap it or sell it when you're done. A download is tied to your account.
- The price is in naira. No gift cards and no card declines.
- It's easier on your data. Big games still download updates, but the disc saves you the full install download.
One catch: the PS5 Digital Edition has no disc drive, so it can't play discs at all. If you want to buy physical games, get a console with a disc drive.

What the Numbers Mean
FC 27 at ₦148,600 is the most expensive game on this list. God of War Ragnarök is ₦67,000, less than half the price.
New releases carry a launch premium. Games a year or two old cost far less and play just as well. If you've just bought a PS5, start with the older titles and add the new ones as they come down.
A game you finished last month is still worth money. A download isn't.
