- Noise cancelling on every pair. AirPods 5 remove up to 50% more noise than AirPods 4 with ANC. That's the difference between hearing the generator next door and not.
- Still no ear tips. The open-ear design is the same light fit AirPods are known for, so there's no silicone pressing into your ear on a long day.
- Better sound. A new multiport acoustic design and next-generation Adaptive EQ give richer, more detailed sound. Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking is included.
- Smarter in conversation. Conversation Awareness lowers your audio when you start speaking, and the improved Transparency mode makes nearby voices sound more natural.
- Live Translation with a compatible iPhone running Apple Intelligence.
- Nod or shake your head to answer Siri, useful in a danfo when your hands are full.
- Tougher. Improved dust, sweat and water resistance, which matters in Lagos heat.
USB-C or Wireless Charging Case: Which Should You Buy?
Both versions are AirPods 5 with noise cancelling. The difference is in charging and controls.
Get the USB-C Charging Case (₦270,800) if you already charge your phone by cable every night. You get all the new AirPods 5 features and save ₦54,000.
Get the Wireless Charging Case (₦324,800) if you own an Apple Watch or a Qi wireless pad. The case charges on either, so you can drop it on the pad with your phone and forget about cables. This version also adds a force sensor with swipe-to-adjust volume on the stems, and Apple quotes up to 5 hours of listening with ANC on, or 22 hours with the case.
If you're not sure, get the USB-C version. Every iPhone from the iPhone 15 onwards charges with the same cable.

New AirPods are copied fastest, and "AirPods 5" will be sold in markets well before the real ones are common. Before you pay anyone, including us, do three things:
- Connect them to an iPhone, go to Settings → [your AirPods] → About, and check the serial number at checkcoverage.apple.com. It should come back as AirPods 5.
- Switch between Noise Cancellation and Transparency next to a fan or generator. On real AirPods 5 the difference is obvious.
- Check the price. Real AirPods 5 don't cost less than AirPods 4.
